The founder, Pauline Skaarup, created Kanel in 2001 and is still the director of Kanel today.

​Pauline has always been drawn by the function of accessories - originally, she started designing handmade hats in cashmere and wool broches for the winter season, in Scandinavia.

In 2003, Pauline extended the business with our worldwide famous hairclips, drawn and designed by hand.
